It’s awesome to see how much recognition Kanjo racing has been getting lately. But with it being so exposed, I also see it getting highly exploited. I’ve already noticed instagrams and facebook fan pages using the name kanjo just to get likes and shit. A lot of these folks don’t know shit about it. To tell you the truth it’s really starting to piss me off, but that’s beside the point of this post.
I’ve been following Kanjo racing for years now, since 2009 to be exact. I’ve been a fan of a lot of teams, but one always was my favorite, and that was Late Riser. One of their EK’s is the motivation for my livery. Today I got to meet one of my role models, THE Late Riser, Kei Miura of Tra Kyoto fame. The OG of OG’s on the loop.
He has such a presence to him, I was intimidated haha. That might have just been me being starstruck and geeking out, but he was so freakin cool! When I met him he instantly recognized my mask, I asked him to sign it, and he did, and then I showed him the issue of Super Street I was in. When I showed him my car, he said, “Wooooooow!” I fucking died I was so happy haha. If there was ever a time that I felt like I did something right with this car it was at that exact moment in time.
This mask is officially retired, and I didn’t think this issue of Super Street could get any cooler, but it really really is. I will never forget this day haha.
